Master of Craft

Master of Craft 6/365

I can pontificate all I want. I had a planned post to continue our train of thought. A line for us to keep following as we journey into the first week of a new year. A new year where we want to grow as people and as creative individuals. But sometimes we think of ourselves as ants and that we are insignificant. We let fear dictate our actions.

But today I'm just going to share Tom Hanks amazing acceptance speech for the Cecil B. deMille Award at the 2020 Golden Globes. This is a Master class in public communication, humility, work, and respect. Before this clip they showed a movie montage of Tom Hanks body of work and it was just amazing! I just think this is worth a viewing no matter how you feel about him, Hollywood, award shows or actors. He gives us an insight into greatness. And if my craft was acting I would watch this at least once a week! Ha. I said I wasn't going to write anything so I'll stop here....

[Note to Future self: Be Better.]

One more thing. There are levels of greatness. It is true if you put the work in you can be anything you want. But in life some get the breaks by the actions of an predictable universe. But most people on top who could step on us ants marching toward the picnic put in the work. They dedicate themselves to the craft, and to what makes great people great. So all we can do is listen, learn, and put the work in. Lay our vision out, plan, and keep marching. Maybe we are the ants that grow wings.

[Note to Future self: I know the ants workers are all female. I was making analogy after I said I was finished.]

Thank You. Caio.
