Vessel

Vessel 5/365

I like the concept of a vessel. A holder of things. A vase may come to mind. A urn on the mantle of a loved one or a beloved pet. Maybe some may say a vessel is a ship. A container to move on top of water to move cargo or people great distances. A holder of commerce, a holder of change, a vessel to take honeymooners to naked beaches five blocks from chicken huts, and steaming pots of rice.

Maybe these lovers are the vessels I like. Vessels containing two intertwining souls covered in sand and sticky champagne. But, I'm thinking more specifically of the mind as our most important vessel on this journey I'm starting, we're starting. But you may like the menu the intertwining souls are feasting on in clear waters and fresh tropical air. I sigh with hope that those vessels of love, connected souls spewed along in a salty cocktail of earths most abundant resource are real. Somewhere.

Thats not my reality. I'm seeing the beaches. The luggage, the wedding, the houses empty with the alarm set, the emails waiting in a office on a floor way above the basic humans commuting. Film rolling. My eye. Her eye. His Eye. Zoom. Into the pupil of one of said lovers and I see a vessel collecting info and moving in tandem with opportunity. *I see plans. Plans upon plans. Many Machines. Many cogs at work. I say the mind as the vessel to get this party planned, this endeavor. Somewhere in a lab two steps ahead of the mice in the maze someone decided to plan. Some may say electric impulses, a neurological net of nerves storing time and actions as memories and movement. It is empty or maybe even preloaded through DNA and has the potential of holding a soul or the brand new electronic components from China. We are all empty vessels. Someone in Rome or Greece wearing a toga a long time ago would of called them/us blank slates. I say we are vessels holding our future, past, and present. We are everything and nothing.

Right now this new year is an empty vessel and each day it starts to get filled more and more. Each day, Each minute it gets filled. This vessel. Has a purpose. It holds our thoughts. All our actions. It starts from our mind. It holds our memories and holds our plans for the future.

Yesterday we made a list.
Ok...Today we made a list.
Ok, Tomorrow we made a list.
Alright...a list was made.
It holds our plans and ambition for the future and what we can accomplish. We are going to fill our mind with the ideas to tell our future self what to do. Visualize our future self holding a vessel of any color or shape. It is your mind you holding. You are handing your future self a vessel of ambitions and dreams. It's pretty heavy. Mine has wheels on it. It's so heavy. I see being a matte onyx black etched with pattern of my design,  it has gold interlocking trim with ornate patterns (that I designed) around the 2 inch edge and rim. I see my imagination can take me anywhere. Can yours? If not. Try.  This is a symbolic gesture. It is a start and dammit it's time to get that list.

This year is an empty vessel.
A blank slate.
Time to fill it.
It's just the beginning.

Thank You.
